For a controller that works but feels slow near the center, compare Steam Input’s left-stick settings. One October 17 player guide starts anti-deadzone at 3000 and adjusts toward 6500 in its displayed units. Save your previous settings first; keep a change only if small movements respond better and the aircraft stays steady at neutral. These are reported tuning values, not universal defaults.

Open the left-stick settings
The author 2022年世界一位のDNA describes two routes: select AC8 in Steam and open its controller settings, or use Shift+Tab → Controller Settings while playing. Enable Steam Input, then choose Edit Layout → Joysticks → left-stick gear.
Before editing, record the current values and layout. If the pad produces no input at all, use the detection and reconnect checks first. A sensitivity change cannot establish that the game is receiving the controller.
Start with the author’s lower setting
The source uses Custom deadzone, a Square shape, advanced deadzone options enabled, an output minimum of 3–8 and maximum of 100. It recommends starting anti-deadzone at 3000, then adjusting within 3000–6500. These are the source interface’s values, not percentages to enter into another mapper.
The author reports stronger small-input response at higher values, with more abrupt movement and drift risk. Do not start above 6500 or treat that upper value as a target every controller must reach.
Check both response and neutral stability
- Use the same aircraft, control mode and low-pressure training flight for each comparison.
- Release the stick and check whether the aircraft stays steady.
- Make a small pitch movement, return to neutral, then repeat with roll. Look for a deliberate response without an unwanted jump.
- Change one value at a time. Keep a short record of which change helped.
This comparison is our suggested way to evaluate the reported settings. It is not a measurement of AC8’s internal deadzone. Yukfoot’s separate PC report uses 20% anti-deadzone in x360ce with a Turtle Beach Velocity 2; that is a different tool and device, not a second instruction to stack on top of Steam’s adjustment.
Restore the previous setup if control gets worse
If the aircraft drifts at neutral or small corrections become abrupt, lower the last changed value or restore the values you recorded. Recheck the same flight before changing another setting. Restore the Steam Input state you recorded before the comparison; turn it off only if it was previously off. Check native controller behavior separately.
The author notes that enabling Steam Input can change PlayStation button prompts to Xbox labels. That label change does not by itself mean the pad has failed. For a flight stick being translated through another program, use that mapper’s output checks before adding another compensation layer.
