In the Reddit troubleshooting thread, a player with mouse camera enabled found Alt did nothing; Aerographic replied that the default free-look key is F. Check your own free-look binding and compare F while flying somewhere safe. Custom bindings or another device can change the expected key.

Match the reported symptom first
PauzOfTheFifthChoir’s question in the troubleshooting thread describes disabled mouse flight steering, enabled mouse camera and no movement with Alt. Aerographic identifies F as the default free-look key. This is a useful alternative for that exact combination, not evidence that every camera failure has the same cause.
Before rebinding, save your current input settings and identify the camera-look action. A steering binding and a free-look binding serve different purposes even when both use the mouse.
Compare the binding without a combat distraction
- Check that your current settings enable the mouse-camera behavior you want.
- Inspect the free-look action and its assigned key.
- In an easy flight, hold the assigned key and move the mouse.
- If unchanged from defaults, compare the reported F input instead of assuming Alt.
- Release it and check that you can resume the normal flight view and steering.
Keep the aircraft away from terrain while comparing. This routine is our way to isolate a binding problem; it does not establish a separate cockpit-view toggle or head-tracking support.
When the nose is the problem
If the view moves but pitching remains slow, use the mouse steering guide. If roll and turn behavior is confusing, compare control modes. A neutral stick causing yaw belongs to a hardware mapping check.
When asking for help, include the exact action name, assigned key, whether the view moves at all, and whether a controller or flightstick is connected. Avoid replacing a working flight layout just to fix one camera action.
