Ace Combat 8 was developed without a native VR mode. Kazutoki Kono told GamesRadar that the team considered VR and decided against it. A VR tag on Steam is user-defined and does not establish PC VR or PSVR2 support.

What the developer confirmed
In GamesRadar’s January 5 interview, brand director Kazutoki Kono explains that a strong monitor experience and a strong VR experience require different development choices. The team decided to pursue the monitor experience. This concerns AC8 itself; the existence of VR missions in an earlier game does not carry that feature into this sequel.
A June TechRadar interview and preview reports the same development choice, explaining the additional rendering demands of VR. Neither source supplies a later VR release date.
PC VR, PSVR2 and a virtual screen
| Expectation | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Native headset view with AC8 VR gameplay | No native AC8 VR mode is confirmed; the developer says it was not pursued. |
| A PSVR2 version or exclusive VR missions | No verified AC8 PSVR2 mode or mission pack in the checked material. |
| Watching a normal game on a headset’s virtual screen | A flat-screen display workflow is a different feature; it does not make the game native VR. |
| A community injector or mod | No supported, tested AC8 setup is provided here. |
If native VR is a requirement for your purchase, use the developer’s answer rather than assuming a headset or a more powerful GPU adds the feature. For ordinary PC play, check the actual hardware requirements.
