Ace Combat 8 Scramble: how the special PvE mission works

Where to look for a Scramble opportunity

1. Enter Ace Combat Online and play a regular Co-Op Assault or Co-Op Warfare sortie.
2. After returning, check the offered special missions.
3. If Scramble is available, join while its limited-time opportunity remains active.
4. Expect a four-player team fighting NPC opponents, rather than the eight-player superweapon format.

The official Online page gives the return-from-sortie availability rule. The FAQ describes the random, limited-time nature. Repeated ordinary matches do not guarantee a specific spawn. No timer or match-count formula is verified here.

Prepare for aircraft opponents

A powerful NPC squad is the stated target, so inspect the air-to-air weapons and ammunition of an aircraft you actually own in Online before queuing. Pick a role your group can use and communicate target priorities. This is editorial preparation based on the mission format, not a tested optimum build.

Online ownership and upgrades have their own progression; a finished Campaign hangar is not a ready Online loadout. Use the carryover checks if your expected aircraft is missing.

Scramble absent, or the wrong special mission?

Launch players in the Online discussion ask for more frequent special missions and longer battles. Those complaints do not establish a deterministic unlock or a workaround. A missing offer after one match is consistent with the official random availability.

Scramble and Emergency Sortie are different tasks. Emergency Sortie joins up to eight players against a series superweapon; read its availability guide or the Chandelier encounter sequence when that is what you were offered. For a connection error, retain the exact code instead of treating random mission availability as a server failure.
